About
Me
I am Charlotte Harrison and am a fully VTCT qualified massage
therapist, a member of the Complementary Therapists Association
with full insurance through Embody, I am a Certified Infant Massage
Instructor through the IAIM UK (International Association of Infant
Massage), a registered Sign2Me network presenter and I trained
in Baby Yoga with Birthlight.
I had my first daughter in January 2007 and quickly discovered
that there was very little in the area where I lived that catered
specifically for parents and young babies in terms of meaningful,
nurturing fun activities. Having a background in massage therapy
I completed training in baby massage and began running courses
for mums as well as weekend courses for dads. I witnessed the
positive impact and effect these courses had on the relationship
between parents and their baby as well as providing the opportunity
for mums and dads to get to know and socialise with other local
parents.
The feedback of parents attending the classes demonstrated there
was a need for other activities that were specifically designed
and for and that catered for babies, providing fun, interactive
activities.
"...services
that are entirely centred to the needs and enjoyment of babies
and parents."
I pursued further training in Baby Yoga, Baby Sign and a music
and exercise programme that I have named Boogie Babies, these
type of activities have proven to have a significant impact on
babies physical, emotional and mental development.
I am committed to providing quality services that are entirely
centred to the needs and enjoyment of babies and parents. I feel
that it is essential that all activities include the elements
required to foster close parent and baby attachment including
eye contact, smiling, touch, soothing sounds and positive entertaining
interaction. In the first year of a babies life the closeness
between parent and baby has proven to have life long benefits
and I find it a great privilege to be able to contribute in someway
in helping parents and babies get to know each other throughout
their formative months helping build and cement their special
unique bond.
